Information on Psoriasis !

Psoriasis produces reddish wounds with a characteristic silvery scaling which flakes off, which, as a result of this, causes the beneath skin to bleed. The scales are actually extra skin generated by the substances in the body responsible for directing skin cell growth. They go out of control and affect the cells to grow as fast as 1,000 times compared to the normal speed.

Prescription medicines can help control psoriasis but they need to be watchfully administered by a qualified physician as to avoid hardness on liver, which, when impaired, is actually considered to be the reason of psoriasis. The skin becomes either crusty or oozing and can be easily infected.

Psoriasis victims are typically seen to have high levels of polyamines which are an adverse poisonous form of amino acid that is produced while the body digests poor protein, a cause of food sensitivities.

Psoriasis has been proved to cause an increase in the risk of heart attack in a recent scientific study.

According to the study team at University of Pennsylvania adults with psoriasis, especially younger people with severe symptoms, develop an increase in the risk for heart attack. The team found that a 30-year old with severe psoriasis is three times likely to suffer heart attack as compared to the person of the same age without psoriasis.

Psoriasis is considered similar to acne as both have similar symptoms. So in many cases people use various acne medications to cure psoriasis. This can be both effective and ineffective depending from person to person.

Scientists believe that the abnormality in immune system that causes psoriasis also contributes toward heart problems.
